Bag Initiative – During April and May 2025, our Bag Initiative was launched with great success. It was wonderful to see residents embracing the initiative and using the bags for their intended purpose namely, helping to keep our beaches and surrounding environment clean.
Over time, however, some of the bags have found new owners and are no longer available for their intended use. We would therefore like to appeal to all residents to help us keep this initiative going. We are urgently looking for volunteers who would be willing to supply replacement bags so that we can continue providing them where they are needed.
Every bag makes a difference! Together, we can help keep our beaches clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy. If you would like to contribute or would like more information, please contact Adéle du Plessis.

Community Awareness During the September/October school holidays, we are planning a Community Awareness Event aimed at providing residents with valuable information on responsible pet ownership and animal health. The event will feature an informative talk presented by the Municipal Dog and Animal Control Officer, together with a representative from the Department of Agriculture in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). Topics will include responsible dog ownership, rabies prevention, and other animal diseases that may affect our community.
And, of course, no community gathering would be complete without something delicious to enjoy! Fresh, hot pannekoeke will be available to keep everyone happily fed while attending the talk. ☕🥞
Funds raised through the sale of takeaway food and beverages will go towards replacing equipment and other items in the children’s play park next to the venue.
We look forward to welcoming residents, sharing important information, enjoying some good food, and working together to make a positive difference in our community!

Garden Refuse The garden refuse transfer site at Boknes has been cleaned and the area made accessible for the off-loading of garden refuse. Residents are requested to consider other users when selecting a suitable area for disposing of their garden refuse. Please ensure that refuse is placed selectively and does not obstruct access for others.
Please take note that this site is restricted to garden refuse only. Residents are kindly requested to refrain from dumping any material other than garden refuse at this site.
