Bag Initiative – Following the feedback received regarding the Bag Initiative published in the August Newsletter, a positive response was received. One resident kindly supplied and replaced the missing and old bags at the various entrances to the beach. A letter of appreciation will be forwarded to the resident for her contribution to the Bag Initiative and for replacing the missing and old bags at the various entrances to the beach.
Every bag makes a difference! Together, we can help keep our beaches clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy. If you would like to contribute or would like more information, please contact Adéle du Plessis.

Community Awareness Dr. René Van Rheede Van Oudtshoorn from the Department of Agriculture in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), together with Anél Slabbert, the Municipal Dog/Animal Control Officer, have been invited to present an informative community awareness talk on responsible dog ownership, rabies among seals and its prevention, other animal diseases that may affect our community, and the Municipal By-Laws relating to dogs and animals on beaches.

All residents are warmly invited to attend this informative talk, which aims to provide valuable information on responsible pet ownership, animal health, disease prevention, and the importance of complying with municipal regulations.
Come early for pancakes and coffee! ☕🥞 Fresh, hot “pannekoeke, koeksisters” and coffee will be available from 09:00, ensuring that everyone is happily fed while attending the talk.
Funds raised through the sale of takeaway food and beverages will go towards replacing the slide in the children’s play park next to the Community Hall.

Communication Ducting in the Equistock Extention Following a presentation by the Project Manager on 14 July 2026, a Telkom/Openserve planning team carried out an on-site investigation in the Equistock Extension, Cannon Rocks, on 25 August 2026.
The purpose of the investigation was to establish whether communication ducting had been installed as part of the development. The team compared layout information provided by Telkom with the layout for the new Equistock Development, which had been obtained from the developer.
While the two documents contained similar information, a physical inspection will be necessary to confirm whether the communication infrastructure ducting had in fact been installed on site.
